Cigar Toys: A New Cutter from Xikar That's pronounced "sy-car," and it's a year-old company out of Shawnee, Kansas, not a pitstop on the voyage of the Starship Enterprise. Xikar's Xi cutter, however, definitely looks a bit alien (in a good way). A teardrop-shaped, spring-loaded take on the classic double guillotine, the stainless steel blades flare out dramatically at the push of a button, allowing the smoker to open, snip a cigar with up to a 52 ring gauge, and close in a few swift movements. If the self-sharpening blades dull over time, Xikar will sharpen them and return the cutter within 10 days, says company president Kurt Van Keppel.
